The timeless Chinese violin - the er-hu - played by Dr. Ming Wang , and classical guitar played by Mr. Carlos Enrique , unite to showcase music from around the world. This duo often accompanied by John Catchings on chello, known as Music For Sight , performs around the city to raise public awareness for the Wang Foundation for Sight Restoration . Dr. Wang and Carlos performed Live in Studio C on March 7, 2006 with John Catchings. Click here for more information on this exciting event.
Founded in November 2003, the Wang Foundation for Sight Restoration is a non-profit organization seeking to raise funds that will assist patients from our country and around the world, who need the novel sight restoration surgeries performed by Dr. Wang. Since all surgical fees ar waived by foundation surgeons, the funds are the catalyst in bringing patients to Nashville where they have the opportunity to benefit from the talents of Dr. Ming Wang and other foundation specialists. At the present time, the Wang Foundation for Sight Restoration has several patients receiving assistance so that they may have the opportunity to see again.
If there is an occasion for the Music For Sight duo to play at an event held by your organization, Dr. Wang, Carlos and the generous volunteers at the Wang Foundation for Sight Restoration would greatly appreciate your support.
